Howard Nakata Bios

howard family————————————————————————————————-
“dōTERRA was the right company with the right product at the right time for what I was looking for.”

“I just share my experiences and I look for people who have circles of influence. If the product makes sense then the business side will be great for them.”

“You can build this business with product education.”   Howard Nakata

When Howard Nakata first heard about dōTERRA, he was already involved in another health and wellness company but was unfamiliar with essential oils specifically. He was, however, excited about the expansion dōTERRA was planning in Japan. Having grown up in Okinawa, Howard was inspired by the prospect of doing work there and eventually living in his country of origin. It was later that he started to learn about the quality of both the products and the company itself.

For Howard, the financial opportunity that dōTERRA offers is just as important as the products. He says, “People do have a need financially, but they’re not always comfortable talking about that.” Having been through financial difficulties himself, he knows how hard it is to talk to people about what you’re going through. “I always bring up the challenges that I had financially so that those who are going through similar circumstances will feel comfortable coming to see me later.” He tells his leaders to do the same.

Dr. Hill came to Hawaii to do an aromatouch technique class which impressed Howard greatly. “Dr. Hill actually went in and worked on people, hands-on. This was an owner! That was very touching and I knew that he represented a group of people that had the heart to serve other people.” This experience increased Howard’s conviction and pushed him to build his business further.

Howard is also well aware of the importance of educating his team on the products. He says that with other network marketing companies you can know a minimal amount about the product and still succeed with the business. With dōTERRA, it’s different. “There are many people who are looking for hope, and our job is to deliver the right information to people to ensure they make the right choice.”

Howard’s children, Holan and Casey, have been active supporters since the beginning of his journey. Holan, now 26, is a dōTERRA leader, working alongside his father in every way. Howard’s younger son Casey (21) is proud of his family’s mission and has always been incredibly supportive of his father and brother.

Howard knows that in Hawaii it’s important for everyone to work together. “I highly recommend that we never turn away from people, even outside of our organization. For those who are in a localized area where they’re isolated, like Hawaii, working together is critical to achieving a greater purpose and more success.”
Most of all, Howard is excited about all of the opportunities to expand globally. “The fun part for me in building a team outside of Hawaii is that anybody who chooses to will have an opportunity to build a business anywhere in the world.”

Don’t Give Up!

· Change your mindset. It’s not about you, it’s about your leaders.
· Create an environment that allows growth and harmony.
· When things go wrong and a distraction comes along, put it aside and keep going
· If somebody calls you and wants to quit, resist the impulse to get upset. Stay calm and say we’ll talk about it tomorrow. After 24 hours to think things over, you’ll both be level-headed and ready to get back on track.
· Don’t let things get to you. Stay focused and believe that things will work out!
